Who runs this site

Chiang Mai Digital Nomads is an independent website about living and working remotely in Chiang Mai. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights below, contact info@chiangmaidigitalnomads.com.

What is collected

Analytics. This site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use it (such as pages viewed and approximate location). For visitors in the UK, EU and EEA, these analytics cookies are only set after consent is given through the cookie banner. Your consent choice is stored in your browser so you are not asked again.

Community story submissions. If you submit a story through the community form (powered by Tally), the information you provide is collected: your name, email address, your story, any photos, your website or social link, and the tags you choose. Submissions are stored in Google Drive for review.

Contact form. If you use the contact form (powered by Formspree), your name, email address and message are collected so your enquiry can be answered.

Email list. If you choose to join the mailing list, your email address is collected and stored with the email provider (MailerLite) so updates can be sent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

How your information is used

Publishing community stories

When you submit a story, you are asking for it to be considered for publication. If it is published, your chosen story title, your name, your photos and a link to the website or social profile you provided will appear publicly on the site. Your email address is never published. If you would like a published story removed, contact info@chiangmaidigitalnomads.com.

Who your data is shared with

Personal data is only shared with the service providers that make this site work, each acting as a data processor: Google (analytics), Tally (story form), Formspree (contact form), MailerLite (email), Google Drive (storage) and Cloudflare (hosting and content delivery). Some of these providers are based outside the UK and EEA, which means your data may be transferred and processed abroad under appropriate safeguards. Their own privacy policies explain how they handle data:

Your data is never sold.

How long data is kept

Community submissions are kept for as long as the story remains published, or until you ask for it to be removed. Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. Mailing list data is kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' standard retention settings.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or EU, you have the right to access the personal data held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email info@chiangmaidigitalnomads.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, or your local data protection authority.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and does not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
